Whether you are visiting for the first time, returning to church after awhile, or perhaps you are new to our community and looking for a new church home. Whatever your situation, you probably have a lot of questions before you visit the Franklin Seventh-day Adventist Church.
We would like to try to answer as many of your questions as possible before you arrive. Here is our best guess of some of the questions you may have. If we missed something, please send us an email with your questions and we will try to answer for you.
When are your services?
Our worship services are on Saturdays. Here is our typical Saturday schedule.
9:30am: Bible Study and Children's Classes
We offer Bible study classes for children and adults of all ages. There are several classes to choose from and our friendly greeters will be happy to recommend one to you.
11:15am: Praise and Worship
This is our main worship service. The service includes music, prayer, and the study of God's word. Although the service may vary from week to week, it usually lasts about 1 hour. This is also when we celebrate baptisms, child dedications and other family life activities.
Sabbath Fellowship Lunch
On the fourth Sabbath of each month there is a potluck for the entire church family. Our hope is that if you are visiting, you will plan to stay and enjoy the food and fellowship.
Tuesday Prayer Meetings
Every Wednesday night at 6:30, we have prayer meeting. This is a special time where we can join together to come to the Lord with our praises and prayer requests.
Where are you located?
We are located at 71 Brendle Road, at the bottom of Cowee Mountain, just off the Sylva highway (441/64) about 5 miles North of Franklin.
What should I wear?
You are welcome whatever you choose to wear.
The people who attend our service come from all walks of life; therefore it is hard to be specific.
For gentlemen, the dress will range from jeans and a tee shirt to a suit. Some guys will wear a polo shirt and dockers.
For the ladies, the dress also ranges from jeans to a dress. Most of the ladies will either be wearing a dress or slacks.
Is there anything for my children?
Yes! We try to remember the needs of our young people. Classes for the children are offered during the Sabbath School study times, and during the service we have a location for you to care for your children if needed.
I have never attended a church that worships on Saturday. What is it like?
Much of what you might have experienced in a church that worships on Sunday, you will experience during your visit with us. Many things might be similar, but since the Bible says that the Sabbath is special, we believe you will notice the difference.
Have a question we didn't think of? Ask us and we will be happy to answer it.
Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons--the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit--make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone. More >>
